It’s official: Peoria Civic Center not viable
January 21, 2004 in Local
The /Journal Star/ makes it clear
the city started taxing residents to pay for the thing that the PCC will
never be able to survive on its own and will always need to be bailed
out by the taxpayers. They are losing potential clients to larger
facilities and now that the original bonds are being paid off, they need
to expand and cannot survive without expanding. Restaurants across the
street cannot survive on the revenue being brought in by PCC patrons.
