Bad news for Barak Obama

June 25, 2004 in Statehouse & Capitol

Jack Ryan is thisclose

(R.R.) to bowing out of the race.

Now, the GOP actually has a snowball’s chance to keep the
Max-Cleland-supported Obama

out of the U.S. Senate

/Among possible replacements mentioned: State Sen. Steve
Rauschenberger

and dairy owner Jim Oberweis, both of whom lost to Ryan in the
primary; and former state Board of Education chairman Ron Gidwitz./

Please let it be Rauschenberger. Please let it be Rauschenberger. Please
let it be Rauschenberger. Please let it be Rauschenberger. Please let it
be Rauschenberger. Please let it be Rauschenberger. Please let it be
Rauschenberger. Please let it be Rauschenberger.

Of course, because Rauschenberger is most likely to stand up for
libertarian-style conservatism, they muckety-mucks will almost certainly
pick Oberweis or some useful idiot.

There will probably be an official announcement by the time I get home
from work early tomorrow morning.
