Local media lacking a sense of direction … again

WMBD Newsradio 1470 is reporting a homicide:

Peoria Police are investigating the death of a 44 year old East Bluff man who was found dead outside his home Saturday morning. Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Brian Alexander was found lying on the ground in his driveway by a neighbor. The neighbor then called 9-1-1 at 8:10 am, and Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:40. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Ummm … exactly where did this happen? The East Bluff is a pretty big part of town.

I’ve given the local media grief for not knowing where certain streets are located and getting addresses wrong, but these guys can’t even tell us the general address of a murder scene.

I mean, did it happen on a nice quiet, tree-lined street of owner-occupied, upper-middle class homes along Forrest Hill, or did it happen on Dechman, Peoria or California streets, in the neighborhood that was supposed to become crime-free once Midtown Plaza was built?

Inquiring minds want to know.
