Hmmm … I seem to recall something important was supposed to happen today

Now what was it?

Time to get my oil changed? Nah. That was months ago.

Mom’s birthday? That isn’t until October. Or was it November? Who can remember …

Oh, yeah. Now I remember.

The new Peoria City Council is getting sworn in! Bob Manning and Barbara Van Auken are taking their new seats around the horseshoe and Jim Ardis is taking the Big Chair as mayor.

Woo Hoo! It’s only the biggest philosophical change in the city’s direction in 30 years.

I have it on good authority that the new guys plan to bring back and gold standard and resume the practice of flogging litterbugs.

Just kidding about the gold standard.

Anyway, according this this
agenda, there won’t be much in the way of public business at this meeting, which starts at 6:15 p.m. The new guys will be sworn in after some communications are read. A reception will follow.

I’ll be there with bells on. I wouldn’t miss this payoff (emotionally speaking) for the world.

Sworn in, I hope. Sword in, sounds, um, felonious.

    Yours,

And they are getting sword into the “horseshow”, which actually sounds more appropriate than the “horseshoe”!

Remember that there are only 2 or 3 officers on Peoria’s force that can be considered racist. Funny thing is….they’re black. They seem to have no problem calling everyone else on the department racist however.

Which is why the former school board Pres. moved to Dunalp…to escape those pesky black racist students.

Well, we DO have a probationary cop who made some very, very stupid comments.
