Civic Center trying to reinvent itself

They just started work on a $55 million renovation (it’s going to be closer to $63 million after the debt is done) that supposedly will bring in new business. They are sure it will work out that way, just as they were sure more than 20 years ago that the current version would do the exact same thing. Lets hope that the new logo and new marketing strategy — which they just now started working on, by the way — will reinvent the thing as a venture that pays for itself without the special sales tax the current version needs to remain open.

Because that new logo thing is really going to bring in the big acts. Yep.
