If I haven’t been blogging about it, it’s not because I don’t care. It’s just because I’ve got no particular insights and certainly no new information.
I’ll just repeast some information from WMBD 1470 about how we in central Illinoiis can help:
A local way to help out those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The American Red Cross in Peoria holds a telethon Wednesday to raise money to support the Red Cross members already in the southern states in need. Spokeswoman Vickie Perry said it will last from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The number to call Wednesday is 1-866-303-2693. People can also give money by logging on to www.redcrossillinois.org

maybe the red cross can use the 80% of 9/11 donations they redirected to their general fund and admin.

How much have other countries pledged for relief so far and when will Liberals world-wide start condemning them for being stingy?

Ah, Vonnie showing his ignorance again. Glad to hear you get your talking points from Sean Hannity. Just because you didn’t hear it, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. I did a quick wire search and found articles about France, Germany, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the UN and even frickin Venezuela offering help. As far as I can read, the US hasn’t accepted any (nor do we need to). Maybe we should allow French troops to land in New Orleans to help with relief? The articles also make it clear that lots of private donations are being made by foreigners. Of course, there is sniping, too, but what did you expect.
Has the liberal media reported on this? Not that I can tell. I mean, they are in France’s pocket, right? Maybe they just have better things to report on — like the actual damage and how ordinary Americans can help.
