Another 2nd Amendment success story
October 31, 2005 in The Wire
When a knucklehead waves a gun around and cops surround his house, it’s on the front page. When a Mossville business owner uses his 2nd amendment right to defend his property and safety, it’s buried in the bottom of a police and fire roundup somewhere deep inside the paper:
Taylor Lewis, 58, was still in bed sleeping at 7:45 a.m. when he heard [a] noise outside his roofing business at 6923 N. Galena Road.
Lewis, who lives above AA and L Roofing told sheriff’s deputies he went to get his revolver before heading down the stairs, outside of which he found a man, later identified as Jerry Miller Jr., prying at a window, according to Peoria County sheriff’s department reports.
Lewis confronted Miller with the .357-caliber revolver and Miller dropped the tire iron, reports said. Lewis, who had already called 911, had Miller sit on a car until deputies arrived.
The thief was high on crack and had loot from another theft in his car.
I’m wondering how long it’s going to take State’s Attorney “Catch and Release”

Encounters like this are too often not reported. If the criminal had escaped it may not have been reported to the police. If only there was an accurate count of the times when simply brandishing a firearm was all it took to resolve a potentially dangerous situation. It would take a lot of hot air away from groups like the Brady Bunch.

How long will it take “Catch and Release Lyons” to charge the guy who protected his property with a gun for misuse of a firearm?
