Daddy has a brand new blog
C.J. Summers has a new template and title for his online magazine of news and opinion: The Peoria Chronicle.
It’s very permalink heavy, and very informative, even though he disagrees with me on the Illinois American Water Company buyout.
Folks, IAWCo will NOT be sold for less than what the owners could get from the city. If these people thought for one second that their price on the open market would be substantially less than $220 million, they would have cut a deal with us.

Bill, the sale of the company is for all divisions, not just the Peoria one. Therefore, any price will, of course, be higher than what the city would have paid.
I’m aware of that. Yet, I’m sure that when they negotiate with potential buyers, many different purchases ptions will be discussed, oncludign selling off the company’s U.S. divisions in bits and pieces.
Thanks, Bill. I’ve always appreciated your generous spirit toward other local bloggers — even those with whom you disagree. The more I read about the RWE sale, the more I think they’ll sell all divisions together, as Julio said. Even if they split them up, they would most likely sell Illinois American Water as a single unit. In either case, it’s unlikely we’ll learn how much Peoria’s piece of the pie is worth alone, according to RWE.
