Oh, boo hoo

Members of a south side family were shot in a style long associated with inter-gang rivalry. Family members who were present had a gaggle of outstanding warrants. None of them would cooperate at the scene. A bunch of folks got themselves arrested, while others were taken downtown for questioning.

That’s life in the big city folks.

Another aspect of life in the big city is to complain to the press about police doing thir jobs:

“I feel the police could of cared less of my family,” she said, explaining how police, “who you’re supposed to give respect,” began interrogating her family and handcuffing some. She thought police treated her sons and nephews as if they pulled the trigger.

“Would you shoot five members of your family?” she asked. “We were treated like animals. They took most of my family away, to jail, to the hospital and Downtown (to police headquarters). It was just chaos.”

Cry me a river.

Hey, folks, the police were trying to show your family respect by trying to solve the crime. It was the remaining family members who didn’t show respect by refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

I suppose the next trick is to complain a week from now that the police have yet to solve the crime.

Bill says on one hand:So, is this going to be the policy whenever police are called to the Grandview now? What happens in the future when Ingersoll tries to kick out drug users and prostitutes in the future? Are the police just goign to wash their hands and say ‘that’s just Chase with his agenda again’?

I guess since it is just gang bangers, who cares about their families anyway, huh Bill? Are you really G W Bush?

What I am saying is that when police are called to a scene and asked to remove a tresspasser, they should do so.

In the other, I;m sayign that when someone shoots up the family picnic, the victims need to cooperate.

Are the police supposed to ignore outstanding arrest warrents for a bunch of troublemakers because they are related to someone who got shot, in a gang-war no less? I think not!

[...] Peorian indicted on fraud charge A Peoria County grand jury indicted a Central Peoria woman for allegedly not reporting all her assets while collecting food stamps. Prosecutors allege (Angela) Morris collected food stamps from 1999 until earlier this year and failed to report all her income or her stock portfolio. It matters because how much a person can get from the state depends on their income and the amount of money they have saved. We gave her food stamps for 6 years, all the while she had a stock portfolio! What the Hell? Morris’ street address was in the news earlier this year after Courtney L. Morris, 33, of the same address, was charged in U.S. District Court for allegedly conspiring to bring large amounts of cocaine into central Illinois over a five-year period. And we also learn that her sister? cousin? is a drug trafficer facing 10 years to life. Oh what a fun family this is! Which reminded me of the family get together which was interrupted by gunfire, and while investigating, the police end up arresting a bunch of other family members of the ‘victim’ on outstanding arrest warrents. Mommy didn’t think it right that they should get arrested on unrelated charges after a shooting… Or how about the 8 year old kid I saw panhandling so he could buy a candybar… Where do you think they learn these things!!?
