LaHood still not being asked about misleading statements
The Journal Star did run the LaHood travel scandal story on the front page. That’s good. Nowhere in the article, however, is he asked to explain why he’s been claiming none of his trips are paid by lobbyists when they are.
LaHood added that the reporting requirements for accepting any outside perks are stringent. He defended his own trip as an invaluable learning experience.
“I think it was well justified,” he said. “I think I’m a better member of congress and a better representative of the district for having gone.”
What did LaHood learn when he went to France on the dime of the nuclear power industry? How did he vote on issues of interest to the nuclear power industry? Someone in the media needs to corner “Congressman Ray” and ask him those questions.
