Farrakhan adviser on gov’s hate crime panel

Gov. Blagojevich appointed Claudette Marie Johnson, a close adviser to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, to a panel on hate crimes and discrimination. Of course, Jewish groups are critical.

I’ve going to give Balgo and his advisers the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn’t know or her close ties to Farrahan when they appointed her. After all, these are the people who were completely unaware that John Stewart’s “Daily Show” on the “Comedy Network” is in fact a comedy program.

Of course, there needs to be Muslim representation on that panel. But Nation is Islam is not the group that should be providing it. When what I’ve been told by real Muslims, the Nation is Islam is far from real Islamic beliefs. In a lot of ways, it’s like Scientology flavored with bits and pieces of Isam.

Furthermore, while Farrakhan occasionally makes noises to outsiders about getting along with other religions and other races, most of the time he is telling the faithful about what an evil place America is and how Jews control the world. The man is a racist and anti-Semite.

It’s time to make adjustments to the membership of this committee, now that Blago knows what’s going on. If he doesn’t, then it’s safe to assume he’s not a big fan of Jewsish people or the state of Isreal.

If Claudette Marie Johnson belongs on a panel that is supposed to fight discrimination and hate, then so does Matt Hale’s parents.
