Mayor Jim Ardis is asking the community to “Red Out” in honor of Bradley University. Everyone is asked to wear red and white on Thursday, March 23rd to show their support of our Bradley Braves!In addition, Mayor Ardis is contacting Mayor
Willie Herenton , the Mayor of Memphis to issue a challenge regarding Thursday’s game. The challenge will be for both cities to ask their residents to make donations to St. Jude. TheSt. Jude Midwest Affiliate is located in Peoria, therefore, Peoria and Memphis already have a strong tie because of St. Jude’s headquarters being in Memphis. The Memphis to Peoria Run raises money for St. Jude, and Mayor Jim Ardis is one of the leaders of the run.If you would like to make a donation to St. Jude in honor of the Bradley Braves, please make your checks payable to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate and mail them to City of Peoria, 419 Fulton Street, Suite 207, Peoria, IL 61602. Our Public Information Office will collect the donations and give the combined donation to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in honor of the Bradley Braves.
Peoria will have an added incentive for individuals who donate. Bradley University has donated several items including season tickets and a leather jacket for the people who make the largest donations.
