A good problem to have, kinda

March 27, 2006 in Citizen Journalism

I’ve been told by my hosting company, A Small Orange, that I have reached 80 percent of my 25 GB banwidth limit for the month. Even though there are just five more days left in the month, I didn’t want to risk the site going dark, so I bought five additional gigs, which shoudl easilly carry me over into next month.

This is ther second month in a row in which bandwidth was an issue, and not because of a fluke but because fo a steady regular increase in the number of hits and page views.

This is good news, and bad. Good, because I want this site to grow in popularity. Bad, because it’s going to cost me extra cash.

This new template uses less bandwidth because there isn’t a 20 KB image being loaded up more than 2,200 times a day.

Aarrrrrggghhhhh! Please. Stop. Messing. With. Your. Template.

My old eyes are crossing trying to read this new format, Bill!

    Everyone’ss a critic

I’ve increased the font size. Does that make things better?

gee, I get a terabyte of bandwidth and 20 megs of space for 10 per month from 1n1.
I used 12 gigs in one day and 11 gigs the next day during the state finals and still not even close to a terabyte (1000 gigs).

Get a different supplier. you are being robbed.

  4. BobSam Says:

Everytime my fingers are about to click onto “PayPal,” the thought pops into my head that Bill just made change his blog style page again, and I’ll be puking for a month or two… so, I hold back. This one is INDEED the ugliest and most worthless set-up I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t care if your next blog showed a photo of Dave Ran$burg in heels and a little black dress… I’m not sure I’d be able to find it.

This crapola has to end, pal. I don’t know why you feel the need to keep switching around… here to there… to and fro… but, it’s making me nauseous… bleeeeeeeeeeech.

No matter how much it’s used, reverse type is almost always a bad idea — assuming you want someone to read it.

Hated the black version. But I’m liking this white version. So, please, step away from the keyboard…

  11. planit2 Says:

I agree… the white template is the way to go… please save us the pain of enduring change after change after change…. this one works.

  12. les paul Says:

It’s a scheme to get people to pay for his site. He keeps annoying them until they pay up.

  13. Bill Dennis Says:

If I had a nickle for every expert with an opinion on design ….

  14. C. J. Summers Says:

And if we had a nickel for everytime you changed your template….
