Journal Star gives LaHood a big fat wet kiss

Sure RayLaHood takes campaign cash from groups he does favors for. It’s exactly the same thing the JS criticizes other congressman for doing. But as long as he brings home the pork, it’s perfectly OK with the paper’s award-winning (snicker) editorial board. Of course, the editorial didn’t mention his frequent travels that were paid for by lobbyists he did favors for, like the Nuclear Energy Insitute, which represents the nuclear power industry. They don’t mention his receiving cash from well-conected insiders who benefit from sweetheart state and financial contracts.The JS likes to brag about how many awards they win from journalism contests (judged by people who don’t live in Peoria or Illinois). Perhaps they ought to do a little more research before publish opinions that educated readers know are full of nonsense.

The big story is what they didn’t mention: Peoria Next! Board members “belly up to the bar” so to speak and make donations to Ray’s Re-election campaign AND pony up money to Cassidy & Associates, Ray’s number one source of funds, so they can get their grant. Coincidence? Hey, what do I know, I live in Illinois. The land of coincidences. I’m just glad no one is looking at the roster of who is on the Intelligence and Appropriations committees like they are in San Diego. Of course it is so hard to tell who the hookers are they days.
