Participating in local government can be an electrifying experience

I don’t necessarily endorse this idea, but you have to admit that Peoria City Council meetings might be a little more exciting if they followed the lead of these guys and just started tasering people who attend meetings. Granted, the guy had it coming. Imagine … wearing a baseball hat inside the council chambers. The very nerve.

Of course, it might cut down on speakers who exceed the five minute limit.

It seems that putting taser guns in the hands of some police and security personnel has backfired.

Hopefully the majority of the police forces of this country know and understand when it might be appropriate to use.

In addition to this instance you cite, please check out this incident at a UCLA library. They even have a video of the action.

Disgusting. The kid being attacked summed it up: Here’s your Patriot Act in action!

Go here to check it out. Very disturbing.

Aw put a sock in it Debbie. This had nothing to do with the Patriot act. Stop whining and go to your WWP meeting.

What a dumb shit! You would think that at some point he would take the hint and walk out to the squad car.

Obviously Ghetto didn’t watch the video through to the end.

The guy was tasered so frequently he didn’t have enough control of his muscles to walk. They had to carry him out. He was in no condition to fight or walk or anything. He wasn’t armed with anything except for his American-born rights.

And, by the way, Vonster, the quote about this being about the Patriot act was NOT mine; it was from the student being tasered. Again, it was in the video. Remember, he was being tasered just because he either didn’t believe he should have to show his ID or that he didn’t have the ID on him.

My only intent was to show that this tasering thing is happening more frequently for small incidents than most people are aware of. Bill had shown us the one instance with the guy being tasered for breaking rules about wearing a hat at a meeting. I was merely adding to his examples.

Bill indeed does deserve a “thick skin” award for putting up these kind of attacks on such a regular basis.

    Geez.
