A little late in the day, but all links are via the Journal Star:
- The new general manager of WHOI is mulling over changes to give the station more local content. These include a public affairs program at 6:30 p.m. on weekends and a partnership with a TV or a radio station.
My two cents: It won’t work. A local television license is nothing more than a license to distribute content over the airwaves. Trouble is, the Internet gives EVERYONE the ability to distribute content. Go visit NBC.com. You will see that the network distributes their own programing directly, without local television affiliates.
- Pam Adams opinion on the N-word, followed by her bylined news article. There’s a time line on the use of the word, that includes the JS version of a disputed incident involving Gary Sandberg. I’ve asked Councilman Sandberg to respond.
My two cents: This is a debate that black people are going to have to settle among themselves. I mean, I appreciate the debate, but I have no dog in this hunt. I have absolutely no desire to run around using the word, and I do not feel somehow deprived that the word is “off limits.”
- Doug Finke explains how bickering Democratic politicians are preventing any action on skyrocketing electricity prices.
My two cents: Yep. Those Democrats sure do look out for the workin’ man, huh?

Usually, when I see Pam Adams writes an article, I just skip over the article. When I saw this article on the Front Page, I just skipped section A.
I figure if this crap makes the front page, there is definitely nothing else worth reading. Hope I didn’t miss anything.
Not a fan? Why not?
