An interesting video on everyday life in Iran made by the BBC… its 90 minutes long.

    In other news:

McDonald’s wants to redefine the ‘McJob’ in the McDictionary.

And my pet peave of the day:

Why can’t restaurants post their menu’s outside by their entrance? A handful do, most do not. When I come accross a place, I would kind of like to know what is being served inside. I was in the Heights a week ago and experienced this. There are a handful of restaurants there and I was like ‘ooh so this is where this is’. No menu. I have no idea what they serve. Why would I eat there? The French Toast did have a menu posted. Kudos to them.

Menus aren’t posted because Peoria is not a walkable community for the most part. Nearly everyone drives to the restaurant and makes the choice of place before turning on the ignition. Areas that have high areas of tourists or areas designed to be pedestrian friendly will post their menus outside for the passerby to look at and make his/her choice. Solution, implement the Heart of Peoria plan, develop more areas where people are going to walk along, shop, have a drink, look at some art, grab a bite to eat. Water Street just a start….

I have no clue about the movie.
Going “off topic”- We are going to Memphis, TN over spring break. Any suggestions on sites to see, or (almost important) what is overrated? Restaurant suggestions are welcome, too. It will be my husband, myself and our two kids, so family restaurants would be good. Also a nicer restaurant for an evening out (my MIL lives near there, so we will have a sitter for a night to ourselves.)

Gotta be Mel Brooks, right? To Be or Not To Be?

    • Rob on March 20, 2007 at 5:17 pm

I agree…Mel Brooks! To Be etc.

    “Eating Raoul”?

ie. Memphis..I’d eat at Rendevous. Easily the best BBQ in the world. Whenever I go, I usually hit up both Rendevous and Corky’s, but there’s a Corky’s in EP now, so don’t waste the time…it pretty much tastes the same here.

Ryan is correct! I remember seeing the cast photo for the then-upcoming “Voyager,” seeing Robert Beltran’s face and and saying to myself, “Oh, my God. That’s the guy from “Eating Raoul.”
