Emtronics much-hyped scoop has hit the Blogosphere. He says the popular populist city council person owes the city big time:
It seems the big news isn’t so much a conflict of interest issue as I stated earlier. It seems it more of a legal money issue. By that I mean that I have been told that [...]

Digital journalism guru Jeff Jarvis pronounced the death the old-fashioned news interview. You know what I mean: The reporter asks a few questions, uses what he/she wants and disregards the rest. The end result is owned by whatever mainstream media (MSM) organization employs the reporter. The Internet is changing all that, Jarvis says:
Interviews and articles [...]

We are literally swimming in examples of how the mainstream media is soooooooooo objective and fair, compared to the special pleadings one finds in the Blogosphere:
Harvard Crimson staff editors are among those who disrupted a speech by FBI Director Robert Mueller. No doubt these Harvard grads will be welcome with open arms at elite newspapers [...]

All links are via the Peoria Journal Star:
A parolee (served half his 15-year sentence for aggravated battery with a firearm) tells police that he got mad and broke his two-month-old son’s leg. How did this Cook County dirt bag end up in Peoria? Did he come here on work release?
If wireless Internet access does come [...]

The agenda for next week’s Peoria City Council meeting is online. The big item is, of course, the swearing-in ceremony for new and re-elected at-large council members. As is the custom, there will be a reception immediately following. Otherwise the agenda is pretty light.

Geeze. Everyone is getting in on the act. Emtronics is writing that another conflict of interest controversy is going to erupt on the Peoria City Council. He tells me me it doesn’t involve his friend Ryan Spain and that it involves a sitting member of the Peoria City Council. He told me a few more [...]

Michael Jordan’s son Jeffery will attend the University of Illinois next year, and he plans to play basketball as a walk-on. At first, I though “what, no scholarship? He must not be very good.” Then I remembered that that his father could probably buy the entire friggin campus if he wanted to. This is not [...]

The lovely and talented has a winning post about what it’s like getting directions from native Peorians:
“I was not granted the Peoria hive-mind that allows me to know the name and location of things that ceased to exist before I was born.”
I plead guilty. I’ve recently described a place as being “right there where [...]
