Why does the online version show a place for comments but not have a place to post them?

I asked my webmaster guy (Bill Dennis) and I’m told that I get way too much spam mail when I have it open to comments. However, please feel free to email the paper at: communityword@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I should have added a smiley to that.

Vonster, Have you EVER actually sat down and read the Community Word? I’m doubting that you have because the paper has both conservative and liberal columnist as well as unbiased front page news.

And, by the way, adding a little smiley doesn’t detract or excuse your statement “lefty rag.”

…especially since it has turned into such a RIGHT-wing rag….

So, have YOU read it? There’s ONE conservative columnist and there’s ONE liberal columnist – located right next to each other. Then, there’s one environmentalist column, a religious column, one columnist that writes about West Peoria, one U of I Extentsion – Peoria County column, a folksy old-timers column, and one called Serendipity (hard to categorize). Then, the front page has current news about the Peoria area. On the inside, there are tidbit pieces of news about Peoria. Oh yeah – whenever readers send in letters to the editor, they appear as well.

So, I’m curious. How can that be labeled as either right-winged or as lefty rag? It’s evenly balanced.

I dare you guys to read it cover to cover! Then report what you truly think.

Ooops. Sorry! I forgot to mention Bill Dennis’ column on the local media/news and a column written from a widow’s perspective.

    Defensive, isn’t she?
