  1. Mmmm… no, I actually didn’t say that. What I said was that we may start seeing a fee on our bills for coverage of the city council meetings because, while the city can get money from the cable company to pay for the cost of operating the equipment to televise the meetings, under the new state franchise law the cable company can turn around and directly recoup that expense with a separate fee on the cable bills. I’m predicting that’s what’s going to happen.

Thanks for clarifying that. I think they will just end the coverage of the PCC rather than increase the bill.

  3. I hope they keep the televised coverage, but if they don’t, at least we’d still have WCBU providing the audio. I give WCBU a lot of credit for offering that public service.

  4. This is off-topic, but I really don’t understand how I can be a registered user, be logged in, and have the power to moderate comments, yet your site always blocks my comments, throwing them into either the moderation hopper or the Akismet spam filter. You’ve mentioned before that this isn’t only happening to me, but other commenters as well. That’s all well and good, but do you realize how irritating it is?

C.J. Truth. WCBU’s coverage is excellent. I highoy recommend it over the TV version, which i have running in the background while I listen to the radio.

And I don’t know why Akismet is all goofy. Everyone is being moderated these days. I’l love to fix it, but haven’t been able to do so.

I thought Channel 22 was the free public access/education, non-commercial channel at Insight?

There should be no charge, just the City Council’s video production, live streaming cost, which should be nil.

I got locked out of my own blogS, i stress the plural, by accidentally clicking Flag Blog instead of Search Blog in the Blogger toolbar. Cannot publish new posts or edit old ones.

Oh, you mean “high energy physics”? That’s what particle physics is sometimes called because many elementary particles do not occur under normal circumstances in nature, but can be created and detected during energetic collisions of other particles, as is done in particle accelerators.

You darn right I know baseball. Thanks for the link. :)
