My impression has been that American voters tend to favor balance between Congress and the Executive branch. Democrats controlled Congress for over 40 years but we managed to elected a few Republican presidents… same voters.

There is no political ideology in the universe that makes it ok to support both Bush and Obama.

I see nothing at all inconsistent about being a Democrat that believes in the entire Constitution. The ACLU might like to call it the “embarrassing amendment”, but that’s why I am a card carrying member of both the ACLU and the NRA.

It’s possible to be a member of the NRA and still not be a gun nut or even a single issue voter (and if that single issue is guns… well you’re a gun nut.)

Maybe this person simply refuses to be lumped in with the fascists (R) or the socialists (D). I am a card-carrying member of the NRA, and I could see myself possibly voting for Barack Obama. Anyone but that crazy b**ch Hillary.
