Apparently, they’s found that there are 756 bridges in the United States that share the same basic design as the one that collapsed in Minneapolis. Not that anyone has any clue yet WHAT caused that one, single bridge to collapse. Naturally, the media has announced that it’s time to panic. ‘Oh my God! There are 756 of them!’

C.J. has the winning line: “Thank goodness the Minnesota bridge collapse wasn’t due to terrorism or you know we’d all end up having to take off our shoes and submit to a full body cavity search every time we wanted to cross any river in the U.S.”

I saw the title to this post and thought you were posting a comment on Lindsay Lohan’s recent DUI arrest ;)

I recently heard a Civil Eng. speaking on NPR. He stated that a bridge fails an average of one per week in this country. Although the people in MPLS would disagree, I have to believe the chances of actually being on a bridge when it fails is equivalent to being struck by lightning while being eaten by a shark.
