- The people who run the Peoria Public Library say they’ve learned their lesson. They got reamed but good for selecting behind closed doors a firm to do preliminary design work for its new building project. So they put the project out for bid. So which firm is among the three finalists? The exact same firm they wanted to hire without a bid. Gee, I wonder who they will select … ?
- Lets test a theory: If you put a bunch of people in a room who are predisposed to using taxpayer money on artsy-fartsy stuff, will they agree that it’s in the city’s best interest to spend taxpayer money on artsy-fartsy stuff, or will they instead say, “Oh, no. But not before spending much of the hearing complaining about media coverage of his statements three weeks ago. Why do I have the feeling this of going to be overturned again?
- Crime rates are down overall in Illinois, but murders are up.
- Crime rates are down overall in Peoria County, but murders are up.
- Illinois voters will decide in November 2008 whether or not they want a Constitutional Convention. Naturally those who like things just they way they are are opposed. Those who don’t … well, they don’t have any power, so who cares what they want?
- You know how the U.S. Department of Justice is supposed to fight corruption? You know how an audit found these clowns were paying $4 per meatball served at official functions?
