Local: Seen and heard around town
Some observations:
- University Avenue, 11:15-11:45 p.m., late Saturday: I saw six snow plows from Pioneer Parkway to Nebraska. Three of them were privately owned cleaning the snow off private lots. Two were municipal plows. The of them had the blade in the air and were tooling down the road in a huge hurry. One was in the opposite lane and actually seemed to be clearing snow from the road.
- Kingspark Estates, 11:45 p.m. late Saturday: I saw at least three plows at work in the park.
- West Nebraska, 12:30 p.m. Sunday: I spied my first 92nd District yard signs. All were on the same block of West Nebraska Aveneue. All of them were for Jehan Gordon.

I don’t want to speak too soon, but it appears to me that the city is doing a better job with the roads this time around.
I know that the storm wasn’t as severe.
I live right next door to the Morton IDOT station with the salt reservoir, and as of 11 PM Saturday night, there was ZERO activity. The interstate was completely covered between East Peoria and Morton, and when I got home, all the lights were off at the IDOT station, all the trucks were parked, and there wasn’t a soul working.
