Note that Jill Anderson, the subject of Luciano’s column yesterday on her as Dan Fogelberg’s ‘Same Old Lang Syne’ lady, has left a post on pjstar.com comments on the story stating that she never said one statement Phil attributed to her.
“Just to set the record straight, there was a statement in Phil’s article that disturbed me. I never said that ‘talking about the song somehow might cause trouble in his marriage’.
I DID NOT SAY THAT.
When I came across that statement I immediately mentioned to my husband that I didn’t like that statement at all, and he said….well, I see someone has already commented on it. I did say; It wasn’t about me. It was about Dan. It was Dan’s song.”
The paragraph that upset her would be:
“Further, though she and Fogelberg only rarely had communicated over the past quarter-century, she feared that her talking about the song somehow might cause trouble in his marriage. But in the aftermath of his death - he passed away of prostate cancer Sunday at age 56 - she has been sharing her secret with old friends in Peoria.”

That would be this comment:

No. I no longer celebrate Festivus due to its overcommercialization. Do you beleive they actually SELL Festivus poles? Geeze!
