PeoriaPunditRadio: On the air with autism discussion

April 4, 2008
By Billy Dennis

The show starts at 6 p.m. and can be heard here. The call-in number is (347) 326-9459.

As usual, I found a few simple links to blog entries that discuss autism, especially as it relates to vaccinations:

Here is one that claims a government concession that vaccinations can cause autism.

And here is one that discusses the false conclusions and research from “dubious” scientists that drives the myth of an autism/vaccination link.

And the Karen McCarron case is going to come up as well. Here is a blog entry about folks who are a buit upset at the comments made that seem to suggest that raising an autistic child is such a horrible experience, that that McCarron did might be understandable, even if not condoned.

And If I get enough callers, I doubt I’ll be playing those Superman audios I promised.

And here is some history of Superman, since the lack of callers means I did have to play them after all.

Sorry I missed most of it, Billy. You were already playing the Superman radio shows when I was finally able to listen in.

I thought you said your next show would be in two weeks, not two days.

I tried to listen, but my one-year-old got a double ear infection and my husband was sick too. He thinks he was on his death bed. How did it go? Friday at 6pm is a tough time to be on-line. I bet you would have gotten swamped had it been a different time slot.

Jen: Yes, I know Friday is a very difficult time to do this. With my work schedule the way it is, I only have Tuesday and Friday evenings to do this thing. Tuesday is taken up by Peoria City Council meetings.

I think I’m gong to have to go in hiatus until there’s some change.

And I hope your hubby is no longer dying.

    ;-)

My husband admits he can’t handle being sick and he really does ask me constantly if he needs to go to the emergency room every time he gets a sinus infection. He says I am the worst when it comes to sympathy. I just roll my eyes. I agree that I need to work on it.
I hope my comment didn’t lead to you to end the radio thing on Fridays!
