Local: Gisele Bündchen supports the Kellar Branch
Why the picture of Gisele Bündchen in this post about the Kellar Branch? I’ll get to that in a minute.
The Peoria Journal Star’s award-winning (snicker) editorial page has once again claimed that the Kellar Branch must be destroyed because it’s not needed.
As evidence, it cites the lack of massive amounts of traffic since the Surface Transportation Board ruled that service much continue on the line. Never mind that proponents of saving the Kellar never promised a huge rush of new business along the line.
The fact is that City of Peoria, Village of Peoria Heights and the Peoria Park District have been, for years, doing everything in their power to keep rail service out of that area. In fact, they still trying to keep rail service out. Would you locate in a part of a city in which every branch of local government wants to keep you from getting supplied and shipping your goods?
Mahkno, a Peoria resident and a frequent commenter here on Peoria Pundit, left a comment on the Journal Star story saying that Peoria panders to the wishes of certain developers. To which another anonymous commenter opined:
Will Mahnko (sp) ever marry Gisele Bunchen? In 20 years? 50 years? 100 years? The odds are probably about the same as having a lot of rail customers along there. Does that mean Mahnko holds out for Gisele? Or does he marry the girl that seems just right for him?
I’ve met Mahkno. Gisele could do a lot worse, and no doubt she has. Too bad he’s marrie, though. Besides, I was under the impression that World’s Most Obnoxious Yankee’s Fan had claimed her affections already. And judging from this picture, Gisele prefers modes of transportation even more old-fashioned than rail.

I am so old school. When I look at that pic the first thing that comes to mind is if she could get an infection from that.
I am sure they hosed her off before the shoot.
The horse, I mean.
