Blogging: We all should be dooced
The chick who writes this blog told Nightline that:
- She got fired for writing a post about how her boss got Botox treatments and showed up to work with a frozen face.
- So, she blogs full time.
- She now makes $40,000 a month from advertising revenue.
Sounds like a plan … oops, I don’t have a spouse to pay the bills while I play ad salesman. Sorry.

40-thousand a month? How many people does she get on her site? 80-thousand? That is a crazy amount of money for a blog. Impressive!

Jen is so flabbergasted she’s speaking in an echo!!
Really though, 40k is pretty impressive…
Clearly, she made Jen stutter.
One way to see how much it takes is to look at her technorati ratingshttp://www.technorati.com/search/dooce.com
She is up in the 4-5,000 range. She must know someone at Al Gore’s secret internet Promotions Group. Still, $40,000 is real money, isn’t it? To me, that says it is not lucky, but she is simply good. Plus I love the name DOOCED.
GLHOFFMAN
It was clearly such a great response, I thought you might need to hear it twice. It had nothing to do with my son reaching over my should pressing buttons as I was typing. He would never do that.
I meant “shoulder.” This is cleary not a good typing day!
Jen, you have sunk to a new low: Blaming your errors on your helpless child. Shame!
And what do you think about the fact that you can’t post comments on Dooce? Could you when she first started the blog? I wonder if she was getting too many to handle… and yes shame on me! He just wanted my attention!
I was surprised. But it’s her blog. Actually, without comments, it’s more like a collection of articles on the Web. Commenting — interaction with readers — is what makes it a blog a blog.
I got the impression from the Nightline piece that she DOES get comments. She might have turned them off temporarily.
As successful as she is, I doubt she gets as many visitors as, say, Instapundit, which does take comments.
Seriously Jen, Billy is right. I mean at least he takes the blame for the 1,354 typos he averages in a day!
Not to outscoop you two reporters, but the comments were turned off for that one post only. If you go to the previous post there are a few hundred posts.
Thanks for taking the time to check Bravo! I thought that seemed strange! Notice there are no typos in this post and it’s 10 minutes until news time! Horray!
