  2. Nojo Says:

so who is going to tell this to all the Bigots and Racist who currently live here. It seems like this is a lesson that could be learned at home also.

  3. James Says:

I agree with what I think is the sentiment of the video.

But our country does not in its application of it.

  4. diane vespa Says:

Bigots and racists live everywhere… not just Peoria, not just Illinois, not just the US, but throughout the entire world.

  5. Anon E. Mouse Says:

    James,
The difference is we aspire to this ideal and address our shortcomings publicly. If you have any doubts about that, read George Will’s column from today.

Agreed, there is more than one audience this applies to.

    Thanks for the link.
Americans are everyone. It is all those that live here in search of freedom. It does not matter if you are black, white, Hispanic, Asian, conservative, liberal. It is that search for freedom that makes this country great. It is what this country strives every day, we are all same before the law.

Yes we do have some idiot biggots and racists, but they are few and far between than most other countries.

    Dare taken:

No one else did a spit take at “Americans are the embodiment of the spirit of human freedom?” That video was the embodiment of American arrogance at least.
