Peoria’s fourth murder hits close to former home

I used to live two doors down from Gas USA at the corner of East McClure and North Prospect. I visited the place almost every day to buy soda and gasoline. It’s a family owned joint, I haven’t been there in years and I’m not even sure if it’s owned by the same people. But the victim might very well be someone I said hello to every day for the close to a year I lived there.

Why did they shoot the attendant? Did the attendant put up a fight? During the middle of the day, the attendant might very well have been the owner, perhaps reluctant to see some good-for-nothing piece of crap walk away with his hard earned money.

Good hunting, Peoria Police Department.

Well, we have a Chief of Police who does not support his troops. A command staff too coward to stand up to the Chief and a vengeful State’s Attorney trying to lock up cops for trying to do their jobs. How can we expect our police to effectively do their jobs in this environment? The police are scare not of the bad guys….but of being investigated for doing their jobs and possibly losing them because the bad guys complain. And we have a Chief and State’s Attorney that back the bad guys.

“There is no “nice” way to arrest a potentially dangerous, combative suspect. The police are our bodyguards, our hired fists, batons, and guns. We pay them to do the dirty work of protecting us, the work we’re too afraid, too unskilled or too civilized to do ourselves. We expect them to keep the bad guys out of our businesses, cars and houses, out of our faces. We want them to “take care of the problem”. We just don’t want to see how it’s done.”

I hope they catch the scum who did this. I know you don’t like hearing it, Billy, but this and the attempted robbery at Newman Golf Course on Thursday are one of the reasons I left Peoria.

I hope they catch the white-trash scum responsible.

don’t do this, Anonymous Cop says, according to the unwritten code, they find out who are, you are going to be black listed out of your career.

And that feeling will much worst than the discomfort that encourage to write your comment, because if not new your able to do the job, isn’t that true.

and your salary is much better minimum wage

I used to live on Virginia, 4 houses down on Prospect. Sounds like we might have been neighbors.

As a peoria citizen I am coming to realize what Anon Cop says is absolutely true. Lyons is becoming a public joke and I am finding it harder and harder to stay in the city (Rolling Acres) where our PPD protection has been diminished over the years I have lived there. I hope the mayor and his minions pray harder for us, its not working out yet, IMO.

11Bravo – i was wondering the same thing. I initially thought they were spam but they have just enough relevance to the subject post that they appear to be written (using the term loosely) by real individuals. Maybe Billy has some insight? Is this Spam 2.0 the new improved version?

  15. Billy Dennis says:

My insight in these comments? I have no idea who is making them. Other than I find them annoying, they aren’t spam and it’s not trolling. It’s just a guy writes oddly.

  16. I delete them from my site because I find them annoying and about 98% nonsensical. It’s up to each individual blog owner to decide how to handle weird things like that.

  17. Billy Dennis says:

Here’s the thing. Everyone is OK with deleting comments THEY think are nonsensical. But they imagine that their comments might not make the cut.

Seriously, people. I delete deliberately abusive comments and I get crap about a heavy hand. I leave up comments that do not violate the rules and it’s nothing but bitch, bitch, bitch.
