Some housecleaning
I’m adding “[deleted]” to the IP addresses that go to moderation queue. There is a possibility this might affect more than just one person. If you are a Comcast customer and you notice your comments not showing up immediately, this may be why. My apologies in advance.
A person who has been banned from commenting keeps figuring out how to get around it and is violating my rather loose commenting rules.
Next step is to file a terms of service abuse report to the various ISPs she is using.
I simply don’t have time to deal with people who insist on using the comments section to make comments on how their and others’ comments are being blocked deliberately (a list that includes only 1 person). It’s not what comments are for. It’s a form of trolling and I don’t have time or energy for it, and if it is alled to continue, makes a blog an unfriendly place to visit.

Lucky me, no comcast! Good grief. Setting out a challenge, making threats? Ignoring “stuff” makes “stuff” go away quicker. It’s the internet, for crying out loud, just a blog and a blog post. Earth is not being thrown out of its orbit because of it. Seems to me that you are over the top on this one. Now, everyone can disagree.
Oh snap. Ain’t you the genius.
NOW you are on-topic.
Wow! (Just seeing if mine is affected.)

Well, shucks! Did my first post hit the spam filter? No Comcast here.
Testing
I just rescued two comments from Ramble On (above) and one fromPrecinct Comitteeman (another post). Ramble is NOT using Comcast, but often ends up in the spam filter.
Just checking if mine works. It’s been a long while since I’ve visited here. But mine rarely posted or stayed that way to begin with.
BTW – Is it some kind of invasion of privacy to post such things as the address above? I’m not a lawyer nor am I married to one, but it seems a little like it may be. Either way, it seems like a journalism master, such as yourself, can see that it is ethically wrong.
Classy move, Billy.
Most home IP addresses are dynamically assigned and even if this one is static the only people who are going to be able to tell you who it belongs to are the ISP. Nothing ethically wrong or an invasion of privacy. But you of course are an expert Kate so I’ll leave the rash, snarky, and ignorant comments to you.
Woops! 11Bravo, I think you have violated Billy’s Terms of Service…exterminate….exterminate…..exterminate
11Bravo is right, of course. And “rash, snarky and ignorant” is a matter of opinion and not an attack on a person, but the comment. It comes close to a policy violation. Let’s keep it civil, considering.
Bravo – Thanks for your answer to my question. I am not an expert, hence the reason for the question. Now I am less ignorant on the subject. I really appreciate the insight? Are you an attorney as well?
I’m sorry Billy.. I swear I’ll behave. Can I still play? I’m sorry I said the dog had worms earlier. I didn’t mean it. Well, I don’t think so anyway. He is dragging his fanny an awful lot. And the twins are still hungry.
Ya gotta luv me babe…
Christi
Christi, when I think of you and “twins” I ain’t thinking of babies.
Oh that Billy…flirty AND sassy.
I’m stealing my neighbor’s unprotected wireless signal, which is Comcast. Shhh..don’t tell.
Comcast uses static IP addresses. SBC/AT&T dsl uses dynamic addresses within a certain range. Giving out the IP addy above is almost the same as giving out the person’s home address. Anyone could now attempt to hack that person’s computer system. If it was indeed dynamic, why the need to post the actual IP address? The person wouldn’t even know if it was theirs, and could be someone else’s by now.
Oh, and you’ll notice that Sitemeter doesn’t even disclose the last/fourth numbers of the address. I think it must be for a reason. Maybe the one stated above?
Themis: Done. I’ve deleted the IP address from the post. I don’t want to knowingly do anything that might endanger someone. My apologies.
“If you are a Comcast customer and you notice your comments not showing up immediately……”
My comments have NOT been showing up immediately for the last week or two. I submit and the page refreshes, but I get no message that the comment was accepted or awaiting moderation or anything. They seem to show up later, though.
Good job, Billy. Not like it was up for 10 hours or anything. Not to fear. The nefarious sleep during the day.
Cameron, I am on Comcast and mine show up immediately. That’s strange. Vampire, glad I sleep at night! LOL
Mine are obviously falling into a queue of some sort…my first comment was submitted before Themis’ but didn’t show up until after.
Billy… you have two websites that you need to edit….
Thanks.
and PDC…
Yeah, I didn’t post that at PDC and can’t delete it. I’ll pass along a request.
Wow. Could you be ANYMORE of a fucking hypocrite?? Really?
Could you be any MORE of a hypocrite, Billy? Really?
Well, I suppose I could TRY Vampire.
And thanks for your input.
