Former Peoria journalist Jonathan Ahl announced on C.J.’s site that he has deleted his blog.

That’s a shame.

Nobody cares. He reported with disdain for his listeners and subjects, blessing us with his superior intellect. I didn’t want “Ahl” I wanted less, I like the station quite a bit better, and began donating once again.

(Knocks)ville: Jonathan never came across that way to me. He was always the consummate professional and kept himself out of the story, letting his interviewees speak for themselves. He always gave the facts of the story in short, declarative sentences, free from subtext or veiled editorializing. I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t have a high level of respect for him and his journalistic talent.

    To each his own.

Perhaps by “disdain for his listeners and subjects, blessing us with his superior intellect” you mean that he didn’t speak to you in the childlike manner in which you have become accustomed.

    Thanks for your input.

    (Knocks)ville:

My name is Jonathan Ahl and I put my name on everything I put out in public, because I stand behind it. What’s your name?

Still, I’m glad to hear you are supporting WCBU. It’s a great station, and deserves the support of everyone who listens to it.
