Peoria undrivability report: Gale Avenue

Subject: CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT – GALE AVENUE
The City of Peoria Street Division is replacing the curb and gutter on the North side of Gale Avenue from Elmwood to McClure.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, Gale will be reduced to one way traffic heading westbound while the crews are working. Typically, the work will be completed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Eastbound traffic will need to detour onto McClure. Residents in the work zone that are heading East on McClure can access their homes by detouring down McClure, Institute or Elmwood. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel East on Gale. Workers on Gale will be instructed to assist emergency vehicles as necessary. The work is expected to be completed in less than two weeks, weather permitting.
