Another reason to hate the Yankees
On the field, the Yankees were the better team and deserved to win. Congratulations.
But off the field, the team as an organization gave us one more reason to hate them.
After the clinching out, there was a celebration on the field. On Queen’s “We Are the Champions” played on the stadium’s sound system. The lyrics:
We are the champions – my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting – till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions – of the world -
Losers. I’m sure the Phillies players, many of whom watched the celebration from the dugout, liked the implication.
Again, it’s a little thing. But when coupled with a week of hearing reporters talking about how horrible it was for the Yankees to have failed to win a World Series since *gasp* 2000, it just ads to the sense that the Yanks consider themselves somehow entitled to victory.

Get over yourself, sore loser. Probably the most worthless blog entry on the internet.
Oh, believe me. I’ve posted things that are far, far more worthless than THIS.
I hate Yankees, but they have more world championships in the past six hours than the Cubs have in the past century.
You’re kidding on this, right?
Do you think the Phillies really were worried about the word “loser” on a song playing over a P.A. system after just losing the World Series?
Mazr — Losing the World Series is nothing compared to being subjected to Queen’s music blaring from the P.A.
Are you serious?
The same song plays after the state championship basketball games held by the IHSA, the same organization that doesn’t call it “sudden-death overtime” but rather “sudden-victory overtime.”
Yet another reason this blog is a joke I haven’t visited in six months.
The only thing classy about the New York Yankees is Joe Girardi!
OK, I’m SLOWLY coming to terms with the fact that Joe Girardi us a decent guy, despite working for the Evil Empire:

Who would turn down a chance to manage the Yankees? Not me.
