McKenna still trying to scare voters

From a press release. My two cents will follow:

Statement from Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Andy McKenna on Gov. Quinn’s continued attempts to bring terrorists to Illinois:

“The only thing that makes less sense than trying to solve our budget crisis by bringing terrorists to Illinois is promoting this plan as if it were a good thing for Illinois families.

“Gov. Quinn appears to be taking an “Alice in Wonderland” approach to his role as governor; the state’s not really nearly bankrupt, and what we really need to do is bring some terrorists here.

“As Governor I would not support this extreme plan and I call on the General Assembly to act swiftly and decisively to put a halt to Governor Quinn’s attempts to put terrorists in our neighborhoods.”

Andy McKenna and Matt Murphy recognize that the Thomson Correctional Center is underutilized, but this is not the direction we should take to maximize the facilities operations.

This is such bull. ‘ … Gov. Quinn’s continued attempts to bring terrorists to Illinois.’ ‘ … Governor Quinn’s attempts to put terrorists in our neighborhoods.’ Yeah, right. Housing accused terrorists in a maximum security prison is EXACTLY the same same as inviting Taliban and Al-Qaeda to move in down the street.

You know what puts Illinoisans in more danger from terrorism than this? Official U.S. policy that allows for waterboarding, not to mention military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq that look more and more like a permanent occupation to support corrupt regimes.

I think they should move them in to your apartment building, Billy.

This is typical scare tactics of someone that has nothing better to say. No I don’t want terrorist in my neighborhood but putting them in a maximum prison and bringing economic recovery to the area is a better idea than the millions of dollars we are spending indefinitely at Gitmo. Supporting Gitmo is not helping us one little bit. Do something with these prisoners and lets get on with life.

Republicans are acting like scared crybabies in opposing the transfer of prisoners to an Illinois prison. I have written extensively on this matter, http://www.AndyforUSSenator.blogspot.com.
Northwest Illinois needs the economic boost; there is no threat. Mark Kirk’s opposition is a disgrace.

Okay that settles it, I am opposed to letting them use Thomson when it is clear that we obviously don’t have enough space to house all of our own crazies, like Andy Martin.

I would think a nice conservative like you would find common ground with Mr. Martin.

        That hurts Billy.

No Andy, you selling out Illinois to house terrorists is a disgrace. I have never heard of you but just checked out your website. I notice you mention Mark Kirks name EIGHT times on your home page. Did you ever consider running on your OWN MERIT?

You’ve never heard of Andy Martin, the guy who runs for something EVERY election cycle? Where have you been?

Oh, sorry, it was 9 times. He should have you arrested for stalking.
