Kudos to Kevin Lyons

Peoria County State’s Attorney Kevin Lyons will not file charges against a man who used his ex-wife’s handgun to shoot an intruder.

The shooter is a convicted felon. There are all sorts of crimes Lyons could have charged the guy with. But Lyons decided not to stand in the way of a guy doing what he is supposed to do — protect his family.

I give Lyons crap when he deserves it, but this was a good decision.

I was hoping and praying for this decision by Mr. Lyons. There is hope for our society…

Lyons often makes smart decisions, and is not afraid to anger the police or others who work with him, when necessary. Compare that with his counterparts in Fulton County, who have prosecuted and convicted a 71-yr-old ex-alderman whose only crime was demanding a look at the Canton budget! Something stinks there!

This post is more commentary than reporting, but I appreciate your comment.
