Comment about any damn thing on your mind. I’m going to be busy for the next few hours.

Keep it clean. Or reasonably clean.

I’ve lived in New York for over 16 years and I still miss Avanti’s gondolas, Agatucci’s pizza and chili mac at Steak ‘n’ Shake. If you moved away from Peoria, what would you miss? It doesn’t have to be food.

My parents and I had lunch at Avantis today. Delicious.

Steak n Shake I understand, but Avantis AND Agatuccis are both horribly bland restaurants. I don’t understand the attraction.

Hey look, Debbie Downer has joined the conversation!

Sorry, I don’t share the romanticism that some do with Avantis or Agatuccis. I’ll still eat at Avantis from time to time, but I wouldn’t make an effort to go to Agatuccis unless someone invited me. There are plenty of other good local places to eat though.

Just out of curiosity (and I mean this sincerely), are you from Peoria, or a transplant here? Generally speaking (and there are always exceptions), it seems that those who really like Avanti’s are those who were born/raised here. I think there’s just something about growing up with it. Maybe it’s the same with Agatucci’s. I think they have good pizza.

Since Marty already mentioned Avanti’s – I would miss the cheddar cheese soup in a bread bowl at Donna’s Downtown Diner, the atmosphere at Kelleher’s and the tomato thing at Chef Leo’s I can’t pronounce.

Wow, that cheddar cheese soup sounds great, DeWayne! I’ll have to try it next time I’m back.

I am not a bread eater. Usually don’t buy a loaf a bread more than once a year, but I could devour an entire loaf of Avanti’s bread and want more. I would miss that. And there are a few other haunts in town that I would miss.

I can’t help but be disturbed about how Fuller drove onto the Woodruff HS parking lot to abandon the SUV he was driving. District 150 robo-called and said they were tightening security for our students.

Hey get this, people drive into Woodruff parking lot all day and leave cars. Janitors, teachers, visitors, and yes escaped convicts. Whose to notice?

We got the robo-call too. They said they would be “increasing security” during parent pick-up. I didn’t see a single cop nor a single change in procedure. It sounded good though.

I got the call at 3:05pm…hmmm both of my kids schools were already out by that time!!! Also found out that Woodruff Campus Police were never notified by the authorities that a car had been stolen in the neighborhood??????
