I’ve discussed the DUI charge against Peoria County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler McCoy (the son of Sheriff Mike McCoy)  in this post and this post. I thought I’d give readers an opportunity to give their opinion. There are five possible replies. Pick the reply that best summarizes your thoughts on the matter. You can pick up to three. Feel free to comment further in the comments section.

You BET he was right, albeit tardy in doing so.

Plus, I loved our bulldog George more than any dog on earth, but this guy has one of the hardest, thin-mouthed, meanest faces I have ever seen. He is best out of police work – and fast. He is also, obviously, a coward, hiding behind his daddy and the department. Now watch ME get hit by the Peoria Police Dep’t.

So, your defense of Lyons is that Tyler McCoy isn’t attractive? Stay classy …

I’m usually along with the ‘Lyons is a wuss’ crowd, but I think this charge is justified. One can assume that procedure was NOT done to benefit a fellow cop, and Lyons is cracking down on the ‘cops are above the law’ attitude. After this, let’s hope Lyons starts cracking down on the thugs that are above the law.
