Unanswered questions in sinkhole story
This article leaves a lot of unanswered questions:
A woman stopped at a Central Peoria stop sign Tuesday received a scare when the road gave way beneath her.
Kathleen Harris, 53, of Mapleton was eastbound on West Eugenie Avenue, stopped at a sign at North Rockwood Drive near an entrance to Avanti’s, just after noon. The road on Eugenie gave way because of a broken water main, Illinois American Water spokeswoman Karen Cotton said.
There’s no byline on this, so we can only speculate about who failed to ask the city or Illinois American Water Company exactly who is going to pay to repair this street and exactly how long is it goign to take to repair.
There is no indication in this story that anyone even bothered to call city hall.
And who, if anybody, is going to repay Avanti’s for the lost business?
Note to the PJS: Public Works Director Dave Barber can be reached at 494-8800. I’ve already sent him an email.

Who is going to pay to repair the woman’s car?
Didn’t this same thing happen on Rockwood last year?http://peoriapundit.com/blogpeoria/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_negative.gif
