Good news for diners on the West Bluff

I’m lucky to live within walking distance of several nice, locally-owned eateries. One of them is Pekin Restaurant, located at the top of Main Street Hill in Peoria. It’s not one of those huge buffet joints. They have a modest little buffet for lunch on weekdays, but you have to order off the menu during the evenings and weekends.

But on Saturday, they serve a Vietnamese noodle soup called pho. And on Saturday, the joint is packed.

Dad and I ate there yesterday and we saw a said announcing that they would start serving this popular item every day of the week. And I might as well note that are giving a 20 percent off discount on all menu items in February.

I support locally owned restaurants in general and this place specifically. So go eat some soup.

Great place some years ago. Then I forgot about it. Same ownerwhip today? I'll visit within the next week.

It used to be the site of a fast food place called Mr. Quick. It was next to Chan's Cop Suey, the place where many Peorians had their first encounter with Chinese food.
