Right-wingers really hate LaHood

There are two articles from the right-wing tearing into former Peoria Congressman RayLaHood.

The first is from Andrew Breitbart’s Big Journalism, and it’s about LaHood’s history of not being sufficiently supportive of GOP Senate candidates. LaHood actually worked to undermine the re-election of then Illinois Sen. Peter Fitzgerald, who was more pro free-market than pro big-business.

Breitbart is the clown who was working with that guy who pulled that video-tape sting of some ACORN workers supposedly offering financial advice to a pimp. THAT guy later got caught trying to pull a Nixon and illegally tape a politician’s phone.

And then there is this embarrassing article on News Busters, which complains that LaHood is guilty of nanny-statism with his campaign against texting while driving. LaHood how no business doing a public service announcement because he isn’t hip enough.

First, I strongly suspect the word “hip” is no longer hip. I doubt it’s been hip for four decades, if it ever was hip. And if there are people who are hip, they will tell you the last thing they care about is being hip. That’s how hip they are. Elvis was like that. And LaHood is the anti-Elvis.

But you don’t have to be hip to do a PSA about transportation issues if you are the freaking SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION.

  1. Precinct Commiteeman says:

To be more correct – the old guard of the GOP was the force behind the Fitzgerald and Ryan abandonment. Lahood was the most visible part

  2. diane says:

The term "Nanny State" infers it is the government trying to save citizens from themselves. In regards to the texting while driving issue, it seems that is more about saving citizens from other distracted citizens, Therefore, in my opinion, that would not be a valid3 criticism.
