Site news: I surrender

Please direct all Blogger Bash inquiries, suggestions, insults, etc to Cory. He has assumed responsibility for planning the next bash, which is set for the fifth Tuesday in September.
I promise that I will keep my complaints to myself. And no excuses about not being able to find a babysitter.

Site news: For Acidman

The notorious Rob Smith often blogged about the effect red toe nails had on him. So I saw this pic, and though of Rob:

CUTLINE: Tracy Roberts, 33, of Rockville, Md. has her toes nibbled on by a type of carp called garra rufa, or doctor fish, during a fish pedicure treatment at Yvonne Hair and [...]

Site news: Let’s talk, folks

I promise to stop with the about nuts & bolts stuff and start posting about news, politics and the media again real soon (promise), but there is some business that needs to be addressed.
I got kicked off my last host because of the strain it was placing on the shared server i was using. Well, [...]

Site news: Sorry

I just made a nice, long post about articles in today’s Journal Star. I hit the publish button, but the server was down and the post has been lost. Sorry. Don’t feel like re-writing it.
Hosting company has figured out that the best way to deal with the issue is to wait for my emergency trouble [...]

Site news: All sorts of technical difficulties

I am fine, thank you. Yourself. I came home from work to find the entire neighborhood was without power. It seems like all the homes on the Columbia Terrance and Randolph-Roanoke neighborhoods were without power, although the the street lights on Randolph were working.
I don’t know when the power went out, but there were downed [...]

Site News: Let’s talk Blogger Bash

July 29 is the fifth Tuesday of the month, and tradition calls for a Blogger Bash.
We’ve done the chain hot-wing-joint thing.
We’ve done the other-side-of-the-river thing.
Let’s do it old school and meet at the site of the FIRST Peoria-area blogger bash and do it up at the Recovery Room. 802 W. Pioneer Parkway in Peoria. Say, [...]

Media: Weekend Blog Peoria roundup

A look at The Blog Peoria Network this week:
Rob ranted away about the Heller decision:
I’ve heard joyous cheers throughout the freedom loving world today. And while I don’t share the unbridled enthusiasm of the many, I do feel damn good. DAMN GOOD!
Ok, why not great? Scalia left a little loop hole that I didn’t like, [...]

BP Site News: More Blog Peoria members sign up

His handle is “scifiguy” and his site is Random Rants and Ravings. He’s even followed my advice and posted an “About” page:
I live in the East Bluff neighborhood, so there’s plenty to rant about. My pet peeve here are the inconsiderate boobs who think it’s ‘cool’ to crank up their sub-woofers and rattle the [...]

BP Site News: New Peoria Blogger

Remember Angela Anderson? She ran for Peoria City Council three years ago and almost got on the general election ballot. She became a pal and a supporter of this site.
Then she moved to Florida. Something about she and her children wanting to continue to live with her husband, who was transfered by his employer [...]

PP Site news: Return of an old friend

Apparently, there’s something screwey in the theme I’ve been using (which is also the theme I have set as the default). Commenters cannot comment, or so my e-mailers tell me.
So, I’ve decided to do a test run of the lastest and greatest version of Mandigo. It’s an option-loaded theme, an works well for folks who [...]

Site News: It’s pledge week for the Blog Peoria Project (UPDATED 2x)

UPDATE: For obvious reasons, I’m keeping this post at the top of the page:
UPDATE 2: I’m a little bit over halfway there. You guys are generous.
I’ve found a new host for Blog Peoria (which includes Peoria Pundit, Peoria Illinoisan, Knight in Dragonland, etc). The new site will cost roughly the same as the one [...]

Site news: Posting will be light

I’m working today, and what little time I am able to get for blog-related activity is going to investigating the best way to move and update the Blog Peoria site. So there’s won’t be a lot of time to write things.

Site News: Some unfortunate downtime

For brevity’s sake, I’ll post the letter I sent to C.J. Summers in reply to his email:
Here’s what I know. My server on which blogpeoria.com sites are hosted was experiencing heavy loads all day yesterday. I submitted five trouble tickets on the issue, one each time the server was down.
I was beginning to discuss moving [...]
