OSF takes care of every one regardless of their ability to pay. People also donate to them because of their mission and good works. The Children's hospital is a perfect example. The other hospitals don't have this mission to the poor (and we have plenty). OSF also builds facilities (using skilled labor) because regulators make hospitals update their facilities at certain intervals.

That eleventy gabillion dollars idea is a thing of decades past. The hospitals have been running less than 5% profit for years (more like 2-3%). It is donations and cost cutting that fill gaps. That low margin means that any more cost is going to cost people their jobs.

The hospitals are creating good jobs here in Peoria that can't be shipped overseas, and they are diversifying the local economy. We should be greatful these guys are staying. We also really should stop covetting our neighbors goods(success) and pushing people out of the area (taxing).

Lets start taxing things that are bad for society (law suits), and eliminate government workers' ability to constantly lobby for their own benefit (at taxpayer expense) that is bloating government cost.

Now what makes you think they will bring all the folks getting laid off with them. They can just put you on hold longer until the ONE person working gets to your call.

Yeah, Eye. I noticed that too. But I didn't have time to deal with it. My guess is he retired, but god a non-badge-using job with the PPD. Double dipping is nothing new.

you are so right on this he is lucky 2 ways first the cop didn't shoot first which is what he should have done you know 2 to the center mass problem solved. Also the fact he is white or he would be in jail. Now go back and read the story again and explain why the end says he is employed and not retired. So which one is he retired or working.

Bill….way off topic but….when I clicked the link from your main page to get to this page, another full page screen opened with an ad for something about "Malibu" and my virus software went nuts. It apparently was trying to load a trojan and other stuff (happened too fast).

And on topic, Comcast is a joke.
