As a independent journalist who blogs, I’ve althought though Big Media companies were foolish — to put it mildly — for fretting over staff members’s unedited blogs. Take for example this tongue-in-cheek, yet truthful paragraph from Eric Zorn’s blog:

The Chicago Tribune columnist looks at the government’s response to Katrina and came to an unsettling conclusion:

… now that he’s off the Chicago Tribune’s server, he can start running his own blogrolls, permalinks, comments, etc. As someone who probably would be on that blogroll, I highly encourage him to do it.
