I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The cure for bad speech isn’t to ban it. The cure is good speech.
That’s why I love these guys:
Wearing vests covered in military patches, a band of motorcyclists rolls around the country from one soldier’s funeral to another, cheering respectfully to overshadow jeers from church protesters.
They [...]

This time, the victim will be the friends and family of Army 1st Lt. David Giaimo of Zion, IL
Why don’t these people go down to Crawford, Texas, and tell Cindy Sheehan that God killed her son. She needs someone to blame besides Bush, and she certainly isn’t blaming the terrorists.

If you don’t read the Web, you didn’t know East Peoria was part of a national story yesterday. Services were held for Marine Gunnery Sergeant Terry Ball, and the East Peoria event was picketed by member of the Westboro Baptist Church.
So where is is this church? Why in the world were they protesting?
Those questions were [...]

RULES:
Complete silence
Respectful funeral attire
No [...]

I’m surprised that the Peoria media isn’t reporting on the fact the Fred Phelps “God Hates Fags” group plans to protest at Gunnery Sgt. Terry Ball’s funeral. They say the gunny died because God is punishing the United States because it is insufficiently intolerant of homosexuals.
Rich Miller is all over the story, thanks to his [...]

The “God Hates Fags” people have the right to protest at the funeral of a real war hero from East Peoria, but Peoria neighborhood activists are being investigated for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to property because they are putting around flyers from door to door.
Amazing.
There can be legitimate debate over the value of [...]

Hat tip to Marathon Pundit:
Perhaps my readers have heard of Fred Phelps and his church group that takes its faith-based opposition to homosexuality to extremes. You know, the “God Hates Fags” group.
Lately, they’ve been showing up at the funerals of soldiers and Marines who’ve been killed in combat. Their message is that these brave people [...]
