Salvation Army in donation snafu?

UPDATE (8:42 p.m.): WEEK has a report on what organizations are taking donated items.
Jason Salyers at Greater Peoria Blog recounts how folks attempting to donate clothes clothes were turned away from the Salvation Army, even though local media organizations were telling people to take donated items there.

The phone lines are still open

The American Red Cross phone-a-thon continues to bring in money for the relief of Hurricane victims. Spokeswoman Vickie Perry said $226,473 has been raised through 1 Thursday afternoon.
