Democrats are taking potshots at Republicans who voted against the stimulus, but worked to put local projects funded by the stimulus. A case can be made that this is hypocrisy. But a case can also be made that the positive effects of the stimulus were, at least, highly overstated. From The Hill:
Lawmakers and administration...

It’s Schock vs. Maddow on Sunday
I’m hearing that Aaron Schock and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow will appear on Meet the Press this Sunday. Here is Maddow laying some smack on Republicans for voting against the stimulus, complaining about it being bad for the country, but then trying to grab all the stimulus funds for their districts than they can...

Where’s Schock? On a list of big-spending double talkers
We’ve discussed this sort of thing before: Should politicians try to get federal spending for their districts that they are otherwise opposed to? There are some House Republicans who opposed the stimulus bill, but didn’t oppose spending it at home: THE SATURDAY AFTERNOON POST: HOUSE REPUBLICAN HYPOCRISY HALL OF FAME.

You’ll remember President Obama’s aggressive lobbying for the porkulus package at a Caterpillar plant in February. Obama grandly promised that if the stimulus passed, Caterpillar would rehire laid-off workers — a claim that was refuted by Caterpillar’s CEO.
How’s it all working...

‘We’re from the government and we’re here to help ourselves’
I am shocked, I tell you, shocked, to discover that government employees aren’t experiencing the layoffs and job insecurity the private sector is undergoing during this recession.
Why should that? Private employers have to somehow convince customers to buy their products or services. All the government has to do is pass a stimulus package handing...

Woodford County agency can’t pass an audit, but gets stimulus cash anyway
USA Today has a report about how 61 housing agencies that have been repeatedly faulted by auditors for mishandling government aid are getting some $300 million in stimulus cash from the Feds. Among these failed housing agencies is the one serving Woodford County, which is getting another $98,449.
Congress gave the Obama administration permission to...
